HHPA XC contest

Post by nuclear »

What would people think about doing an HHPA XC contest? Perhaps we could get Mick to help us run it through the Cowboy Up Flying Club on Leonardo. I was thinking something along the lines of defining a start date and then running it through the end of the XC Bohl. We could have a kickoff party out at Wharton, and then announce the winner(s) at the end of the XC Bohl.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm new to HHPA, but would certainly join the XC contest. I'm training for my personal best at the same time, so "sign me up Scotty!"

PS Perhaps we could arrange a fall trip to MINGUS, give you people a chance at some BIG AIR. At launch of 7,800 elev, the airport is out about 5.1 miles at 3,550 elev, gives you over 4,000 feet AGL to work with. They always have a Labor Day fly-in, camping on site. Anybody interested?

That sounds great Matt. We tried that a couple of years back but when Jeff Bohl died the idea lost its momentum. Let’s discuss it at the upcoming meeting.
